The other day my friend Salomé came to visit me here, in my hometown. It's been a while since I've seen her and it's always good to reconnect with the past: old friends and old places and old habits. I've asked her to snap some pictures of me "because I want to start posting again on the blog". In the end. everything felt almost Twilight Zone like. 

There I was, standing in the front of the court from the city where I grew up. A place I've seen so many times on my way to the café, to meet friends, to go to the post office, to go to the church (trust me, that was a long time ago), to walk my bike around. It feels like infinite the amount of times I've passed by that place. And even more surreal was having that friend I met at uni right in front of me, snapping pictures of me like it was 2010, when I had my fashion blog and taking outfit pictures was already so easy and casual I would do it in a blink of an eye. Now I just stand up awkwardly and hope Photoshop will help me out at home; now I just expect to get used to it again; now I wonder how 8 years younger Marisa was so excited about leaving home in the morning just to take a thousand pictures of herself. Maybe I'm old now and my self-confidence is strange and a bit destroyed, maybe I've done it for so many years that right now it doesn't seem natural. But you know what? I want it to be natural again, I want to take pleasure of having a little corner in the world like this, where I can talk about clothes, makeup and nail polish with people like you, that also like clothes, makeup and nail polish.

Well, the world is a funny thing, how everything goes around in circles picking up experiences and mixing them together. Hopefully these experiences will pick more new experiences and with that I'll keep on being surprised by life. For now, I'll just practice new poses in front of the mirror and I'll practice self-love, something I've been lacking. Maybe next time, I won't even use Photoshop.

Tenho visto em tudo o que visto ultimamente um padrão. Não falemos do preto como é óbvio, esse está sempre presente. Mas a verdade é que o preto agora vem acompanhado, o que não acontecia há uns tempos atrás. O vermelho juntou-se à festa de tal forma que agora não consigo sair de casa sem um apontamento dessa cor - nem que seja o verniz. Sim, é tendência. Sim, muita gente aderiu. Mas quem me conhece sabe que eu não adiro a qualquer cor assim tão facilmente, jamais!
